New development-focussed podcast series launched

The IGD's new podcast series, Thinking on Development, will see host David Sanderson interview guests each episode on current affairs and challenges in global development. Designed to be future focussed, the short-run series will feature guests from around the world on a variety of topics including vaccine equity, resilience, poverty, corruption and displacement.

The series' first episode titled 'The Politics of Giving: Philanthropy, Aid and Humanitarian Action in Global Development' hosted guests Dr Patrick Kilby (ANU), Dr George Varughese (Niti Foundation) and Dr Pichamon Yeophantong (UNSW Canberra). The episode also profiles Dr Patrick Kilby's new book 'Philanthropic Foundations in International Development' released this year.

Each episode is also accompanied by a resource list to encourage colleagues to bring development into the classroom. The resource list includes wider reading lists and discussion questions to explore the issues in the podcast in more detail.
