Join us for the Global Water Institute's last seminar for 2019 as Dr Claire Dooley will discuss the implications of using out-of-date and/or inaccurate population estimates to calculate indicators and describe how her current work in mapping populations aims to address the challenges faced in data-sparse settings.
Dr Claire Dooley is a research fellow in spatial demography at the University of Southampton, United Kingdom. Claire’s work focuses on developing statistical and mathematical methods for mapping demographic characteristics and generating baseline datasets that improve the collection and analyses of household survey data. Claire has led international workshops on spatial statistics in Senegal and Zambia and is currently working on population mapping projects in a number of low- and middle-income countries.
