About Thu Hien

I am an International Relations researcher specialising in geopolitical security and currently conducting doctoral research on ASEAN regionalism at UNSW. I am also looking into technology and sustainable development in ASEAN, collaborating with the Business School‘s R&D lab and the ASEAN Society.

Prior to UNSW, I was with Vietnam’s State Audit Office, a constitutional agency reviewing national budget and economic activities. I was responsible for the Office’s cooperation with international bodies like the EU, WB and ADB, focusing on policy and best-practices exchange.

Before that, I was at South Korea’s national development institute researching Chinese government leadership and its effects on domestic and international policies. I hold a bachelor in International Relations from Bath University in the UK and a Master in Global Politics from the London School of Economics.
