Current Projects

My research seeks to investigate the use of community radio to promote adoption of climate smart farming technologies among small holder farmers in Migori, Kenya. Poverty, hunger and malnutrition have persisted in Migori County with a population of 1,116,436 (KNBS, 2019) as yield per acre of staple crops such as maize, beans and sorghum continue to dwindle.

Findings of the research will contribute to new insights into the study of community radio in rural development with a specific focus on the transfer of climate smart farming technologies to rural farmers. Recommendations arising from this work carry the potential to influence policy and trigger reforms in the area of climate smart farming technologies communication among small holder farmers in Migori, Kenya.
